Welcome John Snicale, Tournament General Manager

Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, newly appointed Ernie’s Bar and Grill General Manager John Snicale is living proof that following ones passions can also lead to success in business.

After graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in history, John moved to Maui, Hawaii to pursue his dream of living in the tropics and his dual passions for food and wine. John worked for seven years as a fine dining captain at the five-diamond Hyatt Regency Maui’s Swan Court dining room, voted by Life Styles of the Rich and Famous as one of the top 10 most romantic restaurants in the world. He honed his fine dining skills on the likes of Cary Grant, Sally Field, Tony Curtis and Donald Trump before moving on to the more eclectic and trendy Roy’s Kahana Bar and Grill to work under award winning Chef Roy Yamaguchi for the next eight years, finishing his tenure at Roy’s as a corporate trainer of service and wine.

John returned to Oregon, and the beautiful Sunriver Resort, in 1999 to take the position of food and beverage manager of the resorts semi-private country club Crosswater, beginning a seven year relationship with Destination Hotels and Resorts. After five successful years at Crosswater, John again set his eye on corporate ventures becoming a member of the companies corporate task force team, which eventually led him to Indian Wells, California and the Miramonte Resort and Spa, where he served as a member of the corporate transition team following DH&R’s purchase of the property, and soon became the resorts’ Director of Food and Beverage, a post he served for two years before moving to Andalusia Country Club in La Quinta, where he has served in the same capacity for the past three years.

Never neglecting his passions, John has found time to gain his Sommelier certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers, and continues to conduct seminars and tastings, expounding upon the joyous world of food and wine, though his number one passion still remains his wife of 28 years, Linda, and their three sons and four grandchildren.
