"Best Overall Tamale"

La Quinta Resort & Club's highly popular Adobe Grill won "Best Overall Tamale" at the 19th Annual Indio International Tamale Festival, which took place Dec. 4-5 in downtown Indio, Calif. Adobe Grill also won 1st Place in the Gourmet Commercial category. Over 120,000 locals, Californians and food lovers from all over the country and beyond attended the two-day event.

Adobe Grill Chef Casey Milner and Manager Heriberto Herrera presented the
winning tamale: Tequilla-Braised Beef Cheek Tamale made with Mexican-spiced
masa and served with a Nopal Cactus Relish. There were 10 other competitors
and a 10-member judging panel made up of local radio and TV personalities,
city officials and a chef. Tamales are rated on a scale of 1 to 5 for
presentation, aroma, texture and taste.

To celebrate their victory, Adobe Grill will feature the award-winning
Tequilla-Braised Beef Cheek Tamale, in addition to its customary tamale
offerings, at the restaurant from December 22 through May 31. For
