Overseeding at PGA WESTYour Private Courses will begin to close Thursday, October 2 for our annual overseed. The Jack Nicklaus Tournament and TPC Stadium have already closed and begun preparations for their overseed. Below is the schedule for Course closures for all six Golf Courses.
As we announced earlier this month, in an effort to conserve water during the state-wide drought emergency, we will have a limited overseed on all Courses. The limited overseed effect will be very similar to what has been seen on the TPC Stadium and the two Nicklaus Courses in the past few years when we have only overseeded tees, greens, fairways and a portion of the rough outlining the fairway. The limitation will also include the removal of overseed in the rough areas outside of the fairway and along residential property lines. This overseed practice will allow us to cut down on the amount of water needed to grow the overseeded areas as well as reduce the amount of water needed to keep the Ryegrass growing into the spring/early summer months. Below is an image of the Jack Nicklaus Private during a limited overseed. This is illustrates the areas of the Courses that will be overseeded.
