Turf Reduction & Overseed on the Weiskopf
In golf, "overseeding" refers to a maintenance process on our golf courses in which grass seed is spread on top of the existing grass to swap out seasonal turfs, in our case, to replace the summer Burmuda grass with a winter Rye grass. This season while we are closed for overseeding, we are also finishing up the turf reduction project that was approved in 2014 on the Weiskopf. In an effort to continue to be water conscious, and to beatify an out-of-play area, we are removing 4 acres of turf to the left of hole #5 and adding in desert scape using the same DG and plants we have in our other waste bunkers such as on #3/14.
Below are pictures of the project, which we expect to be completed by the end of November and some overseed pictures from the Tom Weiskopf. We look forward to seeing many of you on opening day, October 20th.
