The Western Home of Golf in America

There can be no doubt, PGA WEST and its history are synonymous with the game of professional golf. The Club at PGA WEST opened for membership in 1985, and the enthusiasm of the Members took hold even before the first golf course opened in early 1986.

PGA WEST earned its title as "The Western Home of Golf in America"® by hosting numerous renowned PGA TOUR, Senior PGA Tour, LPGA, and NCAA tournaments. One of the most famous shots in golf history occurred at the Stadium Golf Course, when Lee Trevino made a hole-in-one during the 1988 Skins Game at number 17, "Alcatraz." And David Duval's eagle on the 18th of the Arnold Palmer Private course to win the 1999 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic with a record-shattering 59, is one of professional golf's greatest moments

Nearly 40 years since its founding, PGA WEST continues to be a favorite location for professional, amateur, and leisure golfers with its 9 perfectly manicured championship courses. Its enviable lifestyle for members also comprises a charming mix of now and then with memberships at The Citrus Club. The Clubs maintain close ties with the neighboring and historic La Quinta Resort.
